I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Studio DE software for all of the paper.

Enjoy the SUMMER!

We have SO been enjoying the heat, sun, and the pool!!

After this week of watermelon projects, I am going to have to run out and get a melon to enjoy

with the family!!

The sentiment comes from Joy's Life: Pun in the Sun set.

Don't you love the bold font of "summer?"

I used a watermelon colored glitter paper to create this fruit.   No pattern here...just cut a watermelon looking shape.  Stick it onto of a green paper...and trim to create the rind.  I also sponged the layers of this melon to give it a bit of definition.  To tie in the sunny yellow banner, I used Rumple Ribbon of the same sunflower color!

Hello everyone! Laura here from Laura's Crafts & More...This week the DT is making some fun cards & projects using watermelons or the colors pink/green/black/white! I first thought I would cut a watermelon on my Cricut but then thought that what's everyone will think of...so I decided to do the color scheme...THEN I was at the grocery store and saw a watermelon margarita frozen drink and that was all I needed! So of course I had to buy the drink and make a tag to go along with it to give to a friend, although I must say this drink is looking really good! ;) Doesn't it look yummy?? I used "Cheers" & "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" from Pun In The Sun....

 
So I used the pink & green background and added some black & white ribbon with a cute little watermelon charm!

Beach Crab Summer Card

Hi, everyone!  It's been awhile but it's Patty here from the Crafty Kitten!

The first day of Summer just around the corner and we've been celebrating it at JoysLife.com this past week. 

When I saw this cute crab image in the Silhouette store, I knew I had to make a project with him!  

Here's a closeup of the stamp which is from Joy's Pun In The Sun set.  If you ink it up well, it will stamp great on Bazzill paper.

   The card is a standard 4.25x5.5" but I cut the paper vertically for a change.  I used a variety of textured papers on it.  To keep it from looking so plain, I used glitter and hand drawn stitching.

Flip Flop Home Decor

Hi everyone!

and I am so happy to be back on the Joy's Life Design Team!

Today I get to show you a home decor item that I made using those awesome Joy's Life Stamps!

I decided that I wanted to create something for my front porch so I enlisted the help of my hubby.

He was able to cut a flip flop shape for me out of some scrap wood so that I could decorate it.

I simply painted my flip flop base with some acrylic paints and then glued the two pieces together with some wood glue.

I found a cute little wood dragonfly and flower at my craft store and painted them and attached them onto the flip flop with more wood glue. 

This is what it looks like after it has been painted and assembled:

I added some stickles to give my dragonfly and flower a little sparkle. This is hanging up on my front porch that stays shaded all summer.

For the center of my flower, I stamped "ENJOY THE SUMMER" which can be found in the

Pun In The Sun Stamp Set

I think that sentiment finished off my flip flop perfectly and it stamped so easily onto my wood flower.

Good Morning, Crafters!

A happy greeting will start your day off on the right foot and put a smile on your face.

I decided to create a decoration for a bedroom door using stamp sentiments from Joy's Life!

The "Hello, Sunshine" sentiment can be found 

in the Pun in the Sun Stamp set.

The base is a light weight "Shape" from Hip in a Hurry.  

I measured and cut out glitter paper to fit the shape.

Before gluing down layers, I sponged each paper...

to eliminate that white edge  of the cut papers.

Glue Dots © are a quick and clean way 

to glue down embellishments.

Add a ribbon around the back....and a bow at the top!

A greeting like this might 

get your teenager off to a better start.

Today I am sharing a super fun (and easy) card I made for my mom for Mother's Day. As you may remember in my post a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that my mom had foot surgery. She is very much looking forward to wearing sandals/flip flops once again... after all, it has been over 10 years since the last time she did!!

I admit it, I was on a roll with Nautical cards this month. Here's the last one. 

This was inspired by a little girl's sailor dress. It was kind of fun to make the lines. I used a ruler and an embossing pen. The stamp is from the Pun in the Sun set.
