CAS card using Washi Tape

Hello everyone this is Cyndy from Arcy Scraps!
This week we are creating projects using a new technique that we have been wanting to try. Last month the design team showcased different techniques and that's where I saw my DT sister Patty from Crafty Kitten, use washi tape to cover a die cut. I have joined the washi tape craze and was eager to try this!
I decided to go with a C-A-S look because I wanted the focus to be on the hearts and the sentiment.
Like she mentioned, it's better if you use a white piece of cardstock for the die cut because the washi tape is semi-transparent and other colors take away from the washi tape pattern.
The sentiment is from Wintery Puns, isn't it so versatile!?

Using the negative of a die-cut

Hello! This is Patty from the Crafty Kitten with my technique for the week.  I'm going to show you how to use a die cut in a different way.

I turned to my trusty Cameo for this project.  Using the drawing tool, I made a rectangle the size that I needed.

Using one the of tree files available in the Silhouette online store,  I  enlarged, centered it in the rectangle, and then cut it from white card stock.

I marked the green card stock where the tree would be positioned and began to cover the background with Washi  tape.  (If you are in a big hurry, you can use printed card stock.)

It was at this point that I realized the tape was semi-transparent and the green card stock was showing through.  I changed plans and used the white die cut as a base to lay the tape so the true color of the Washi tape showed through.

I used the pencil marks to place the tree onto the card.  Afterwards, I taped the stamped frame to the card and added the glitter star.  This is how it looks after it is assembled.

I chose this stamp from Joy's new Oh, Christmas Puns for my card.  Works perfectly!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial.  If you decide to try this, with all the beautiful Washi Tape and papers out there now, I think you'll be happy with the results!

More Than Fall Home Decor

Hi!! This is Jennie from Earthy Scrap.
This week in Joy's Life we are doing Fall Theme Home Decor.
The reason I picked these super muted colors
is so I could change it through the year.
Since is for fall I picked brown for the tags on the side.

The sentiments I used for this project are from
the new Joy's Life Stamp Set "It's All Fall Puns"

I hope you enjoyed the project!!
Take Care!!

Hello Organization!!

Hi!! This is Jennie from Earthy Scrap!! This week at Joy's Life we are inspired by paint swatches and I decided to make a swatch book about my latest obsession... Washi Tape.
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
I am not doing such thing because I am not obsessed just dedicated and only quitters quit.
I made the cover with one of the adorable faces from the Smiley Cards Cartridge and I made the polaroid on my Gypsy using paper from the Kaleidoscope Pyramid Paper Pad and the George and Basic Shapes Cart.

I organized it by color and I used both sides of the tags I found in the Winter Frolic Cart. I used both sides to keep it from bulking up and to save paper and space.

I have swatches for my embossing plates and embossing powders but this one looks so much fun!!

This sentiment is from the Set Pun In The Sun.

How do you keep yourself organized??
I hope you enjoyed this!!
Take Care!!
