Birthday Wishes!

Yesterday, I found out that it was my lunch friend and neighbor's birthday.

Only...it isn't as special as she might want it to be.

So...I made this bat card...using Joy's Life: Halloween Puns.

I love the colored bats and white sentiment against the black background.

I sprinkled some white embossing powder on the card base for some extra interest.

I know that some would stick when I embossed the "fangtastic" sentiment. 

So...I just "went with it" and added more splatter before embossing!

A crafty friend gave me a white sharpie marker....which I used for the fangs.

What a great new (to me) product! 

I can just imagine tons of uses for this opaque marker!

Sweets For The Sweet-Ombre

Hello everyone! Laura here from Laura's Crafts & More...This week the DT is making projects using the Ombre technique. I couldn't decide whether to use paper or ink for my ombre colors but finally decided on Ink Sprays! I really liked how this turned out and will definitely be doing this more often! I used "Sweets For The Sweet" from Joy's Halloween Puns set and made a cute tag to go with some candy that I found last weekend...

I used Dylusions Ink Spray in Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine & Lemon Zest to create my Ombre look.... 

Then added some cute "button" embellishments, inked the edges with black and stamped my saying. Super cute, super fast & super easy! Love those kind of projects! :)

Happy Fall Y'all -- Ombre style

 

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you had some crafty time this weekend!  Julie here today from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers, and I'm thinking Ombre.

When I first heard this word used in scrapbooking/cardmaking/paper  crafting circles, I thought it was being used incorrectly.  Surely they were talking a Mexican food?  Or a place to visit?  A card game?  The definition of ombre is the French word for color that is shaded or graduated in tone.

I had a few ideas of how I wanted to accomplish the ombre technique, but after much thought, decided on accomplishing it this way:

 

I used various cardstock colors, shading from light to dark, for the ombre look. The letters were cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

The sentiment is stamped on Kraft paper, and is from the Joy's

   Life stamp set, "It's All Fall Puns" has so many great sentiments for Fall.  You can find it, and all of Joy's wonderful stamps, here in her store.

 

 

I made this card large enough to fit in a business size envelope, so there's lots of card to work with.
