Glittery Gingerbread Man Tag

Hello!  It's Patty here from the Crafty Kitten with my last post for Joy's Fall Design Team.  I'll be popping up in the Winter term occasionally, so you can't get rid of me that easily!  :)

Joy asked us to tackle some glittery and colorful projects this week.  I ended up doing a simple tag but with the use of glitter and colors that pop, I think it came out pretty neat.

Here's a closeup of the tag so you can see how glittery the background is and on his bow tie.

The stamp I chose comes from Joy's Oh, Christmas Puns set.  I just LOVE the font!  The stamps are such good quality that you get a good impression with even such a  delicate saying.

Click here to add this stamp set to your collection.  If you'd like more details on how I created my tag, I'd love to see you drop by my blog.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!!!

Glittery and Bright winter card

Hi, this is June Houck with a little winter card inspiration.
Have you enjoyed all of the glittery and bright projects this week here at Joy's Life design team blog?  I was inspired by the glittery and bright theme to use glitter card stock and die cut snowflakes and to use one of my newest stamp sets that may be my favorite for winter projects.

"Wintery Puns" is a terrific and versatile.  I used the "peace hope joy" stamp and stamped on vellum.  Such a pretty font!  I layered the vellum over a pretty piece of snowflake patterned paper of the same size so that the sentiments would stand out.

Check out these stamps:

Please check out all of the glittery and bright projects my DT sisters have created this week on the Joy's Life DT blog.

Thank you for stopping by!  June

Sparkly Winter card

I love anything sparkly! No amount of glitter is too much for me, from a visual standpoint. I really hate it when it flakes off though! Which is why I love the paper that I used here - sparkly, but not flaky! Anyway, with all the sparkle, I wanted to keep the card simple and focus on the sentiment.

I used the 'thank you SNOW much' from the Wintery Puns and stamped it in the lower left corner before I punched the snowflakes, so that I could position them around the stamp.

For more details on this card, check out my blog.

Tree-mendous wishes... all a glitter!

Hello my crafty friends... it's Lori with got2crafting!
This week the DT is going "Glittery and Bright". Well, I just happen to LOVE anything glittery, so this was perfect for me!!
I have to say, trying to capture sparkly glitter in a picture is NOT easy... especially when it's kind of dreary outside.  I don't know if you can tell, but I used glitter paper on the background and on the Santa hat. I also added EXTRA glitter on the tree and the snow!!
I stamped the sentiment on shimmery pearl paper:
You can find this great sentiment in the "Oh Christmas Puns" stamp set found on the Joy's Life products page.

Please see my blog for more details regarding my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I wish you all a very happy and SAFE holiday season!

Glittery and Bright Projects!!
I am sharing the only December Daily page I have done.

I took my daughter to take a photo with Santa and it kinda failed LOL

Since I have no real photo of Santa
I got this one from a K & Company paper.

On my fake Polaroid I used a sentiment

Hi Friend CD case

Hello, hello everyone and happy Monday!
This week we will be showing you many Glittery & Bright Color projects! I decided to decorate one of Joy's CD cases. My friend is going on a road trip so I thought it would be a great idea to give her a mix tape in this decorated CD case holder.
The sentiment is from Joy's Life All Around Sentiments stamp set. It fit perfectly in one of Echo Park's circle stickers.

3D Scallop Circle Technique - slot punch

It's technique/tip week at Joy's Life design team blog...
have you seen the fab creations by my DT sisters?
Hello, this is June Houck with a scalloped circle technique.

Recently a friend asked me to create a "flat" card for
easy mailing.

Funny how my style has changed; I used to plan all of my cards around easy mailing and now I just don't concern myself with it.

Creating an easy-to-mail card with some 3D appeal seemed
like a monumental task!

I noticed this sweet "Hugs & Kisses" font and
immediately thought to make my first Valentine
for the upcoming winter from "Wintery Puns":

3D Scalloped Circle Technique tutorial:
  1. Using a circle punch or die cutting system, cut a 2 1/4" circle.  (You could use Creative Memories green blade and the medium circle OR your Cricut machine and the "center point" function.)
  2. Insert slot punch, sliding up ~ 1/8" up from the edge of your circle; start at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 9 o'clock.
  3. Add two more punches in between each of the four existing slots.
  4. Cut a 2 1/2" circle as your "window"; I like the contrast of the white and black card stock.
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Saturday!  June

Using the negative of a die-cut

Hello! This is Patty from the Crafty Kitten with my technique for the week.  I'm going to show you how to use a die cut in a different way.

I turned to my trusty Cameo for this project.  Using the drawing tool, I made a rectangle the size that I needed.

Using one the of tree files available in the Silhouette online store,  I  enlarged, centered it in the rectangle, and then cut it from white card stock.

I marked the green card stock where the tree would be positioned and began to cover the background with Washi  tape.  (If you are in a big hurry, you can use printed card stock.)

It was at this point that I realized the tape was semi-transparent and the green card stock was showing through.  I changed plans and used the white die cut as a base to lay the tape so the true color of the Washi tape showed through.

I used the pencil marks to place the tree onto the card.  Afterwards, I taped the stamped frame to the card and added the glitter star.  This is how it looks after it is assembled.

I chose this stamp from Joy's new Oh, Christmas Puns for my card.  Works perfectly!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial.  If you decide to try this, with all the beautiful Washi Tape and papers out there now, I think you'll be happy with the results!

oh snap! we're bringing it back!

and hooray for Friday!!!!  Sarabeth here from Chronicles of Sarita,
sharing with you my favorite, super simple tip & technique.

most of you who have seen my creations know that I am just in love
with lined paper.  whether it's notebook paper, recycled kraft or
of the legal type ;) ...it's so much fun to play with!  here is the layout I
created using both regular lined paper and lined kraft papers:

the notebook paper (shown close up below) was cut after I did my
journaling with one of my favorite techniques, the good ol' typewriter!
hit that vintage or thrift shop and pick one up!  i'm not a fan of my
handwriting at all and this definitely puts my mind at ease that I can
journal my thoughts, memories, quotes, etc... without having to deal with that.

of course add that fabulous Joy's Life stamp for the perfect finishing touch!
I used the "Oh Snap!" stamp found in the Oh Christmas Puns set-
too cute right!?

below you will see where I placed the Kraft Lined paper,
this was from the Michaels Dollar spot.  sometimes it's fun to journal
on and sometimes it's just a great little addition to your special project :)

That's all for now-I sure do hope you have been stopping by this week
checking out the rest of the DT's Tips, Techniques and Tutorials.
They definitely did a great job sharing such wonderful ideas!!!!!

Happy Scrappin' and have a great weekend!!!!!

Faux Flocking - Sweet Christmas Wishes!

Greetings! Maria here from Joyful Stamper
sharing a fun chalking technique.

I used a fun chalking technique this week
with Joy's sweet gingerbread man image
from the Oh Christmas Puns stamp set.

Simply stamp your image in
Versamark (your pad should be juicy!)
then dust it with your pastels (chalks).
The effect gives you a suede or
flocked look.  Give it a try!

My sentiment was created using
stamps from the Holiday Occasions
